Dairy Training Center Nepal (DTC Nepal) is a leading institution dedicated to enhancing the dairy industry in Nepal. With a mission to empower farmers, students, and dairy entrepreneurs, we provide high-quality training, practical farm visits, internship opportunities, and dairy production knowledge. Our center is committed to promoting modern dairy farming techniques, sustainable practices, and value-added dairy product development.

DTC Nepal is located in Gokarna, 03 Gokarneshwor Municipality, Kathmandu, focusing on enhancing the livelihoods of rural farmers through sustainable dairy farming practices.

Objectives:

• To promote organic farming by creating awareness through demonstration, action & research
• To provide relevant skills and technology for better food production and income generation in a sustainable way
• To create a forum for researchers, professionals, farming communities, funding organizations for research and development.
• To provide skilled manpower & volunteer to the organization and individuals involved in sustainable agriculture development.
• To empower rural communities and improve their level of understanding, access to resources, information and markets as organic agriculture resource center.
• To advocate in the favor of organic agriculture and its importance local and national levels.

Mission:

Our mission is to double the productive lifetime of dairy cows: 5 lactations instead of 2,5 is possible. We just have to keep them healthy. Healthy cows have better feed efficiency and longer live, which is good for the cow and the farmer. By taking better care of cows, we can also diminish methane production in the dairy sector by 30%. By spreading the knowledge, we can create a win-win-win situation for cows, farmers and the planet. We are promoting cattle health and wellbeing, and sustainable dairy farming. We closely cooperate with other initiatives with similar objectives. We promote sustainable use of natural resources in agriculture through participatory research and development in dairy farming. The alternative renewable resources will be utilized with proper care and technique for the long-term effect. Therefore, we have been supporting farmers, students and youths for cultural and educational exchange national and worldwide. To lead and grow the dairy industry through innovation, research, farm experience, advocacy, and quality is our mission.

Vision:

DTC Nepal is to improve the livelihood of Nepalese farmers with diverse agroecological, socio-economic and cultural settings by offering a basic understanding of the development and promotion of a dairy farming practices which ultimately creates an environmentally friendly society. Dairy farming is such important sector of agriculture in Nepal which is not new and is being followed from old generation to new generation. Dairy farming is also a major part of sustainable agriculture to produce food, fibre from plant and animal using the environment friendly farming method that protect ecosystem, control global warming, public health, human communities, safe food, good nutrition and animal welfare. Organic farm raises livestock and grows a crop in a way that does not pollute the environment. A healthy sustainable dairy industry is our vision.
