Dairy Farm Experiences
DTC Nepal is centre for dairy training, internships, dairy farm visiting, dairy farm experiences and farm management, based in Gokarna, Kathmandu, Nepal. DTC Nepal is committed to improving the livelihood of rural farmers through training, research, development and the promotion of sustainable dairy farming in the country.
To achieve its objective, the organization put major emphasis on its partnership and collaboration with farmers, farming communities, academia and sponsor organizations at local, national and international levels dedicated to working together for community empowerment, adaptive research and the development of sustainable dairy farming. Networking, partnering and advocating in the favor of livestock, dairy production, dairy training and internships are major focus of DTC Nepal.
Our Programs
Dairy Farm Tours
The program includes a combination between background info, farm tours by host farmers and training questions and evaluation. All trainings and farm tours include background info on Nepalese/Dutch farming, visits to different farm types, and analysis of how to use the lessons learnt in the own country context.
Training and Internships
Training and Internships offer students and farmers real life experiences and opportunities working within the dairy industry. Recognizing this, DTC Nepal has established dairy farming training and Internship for its students and farmers to share internship opportunities with dairy professionals and experts.
Dairy Farming Exchange
DTC Nepal is organizing exchange and volunteering programs with dairy farms and dairy farming network on challenges related to sustainable dairy farming and milk quality. An important focus is on the improvement of milk quality by improving cattle health and reducing the use of antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals.
